Breville Smart Grinder Pro BCG820
The Breville Smart Grinder Pro is built for coffee drinkers who use more than one brewing method and want a grinder that can move between them without giving up dose control.
Its hardened stainless-steel conical burrs work across 60 grind settings, ranging from fine espresso to coarse French press. A backlit LCD keeps the grind size, selected shots or cups, and grinding time visible while you work.
Instead of relying on a single timer setting, the Smart Grinder Pro lets you choose shots for espresso or cups for brewed coffee, then fine tune the grind time in 0.2-second increments. You can grind directly into a portafilter, the included grounds container, or a coffee filter basket. This grinder is a perfect fit for someone who wants one grinder to handle several brewing styles.
Smart Grinder Pro Features
Smart Grinder Pro
Built for More Than Espresso
From your morning espresso to an afternoon pour over or weekend French press, the Breville Smart Grinder Pro is designed to keep up with different brewing routines.
With 60 grind settings, you can move between fine espresso and coarser grinds for drip coffee and French press using a single grinder. The SHOTS | CUPS control lets you select a dose based on your brewing method, while the programmable timer helps you fine-tune the amount of coffee you grind.
You can also grind directly into a portafilter, the included grounds container, or a coffee filter basket. Whether you're pulling a shot or preparing a full pot, the Smart Grinder Pro gives you the flexibility to switch brewing methods without needing a separate grinder.
Additional Features
Backlit LCD
The LCD displays the selected grind setting, grind-size range, number of shots or cups, and current grinding time.
Adjustable Upper Burr
The removable upper burr provides a secondary calibration range beyond the external 60-position grind dial.
Locking Bean Hopper
The hopper uses a locking mechanism that allows it to be removed while helping keep beans contained during transfer.
Power Saving Mode
After 5 minutes of inactivity, the grinder automatically enters standby. Press any control-panel button to wake it.
Thermal Protection
An automatic thermal safety shutoff helps protect the motor from overheating.
Removable Grind Tray
The grind tray catches overflow beneath the chute and can be removed for cleaning.

Care and Maintenance
Keeping your Breville Smart Grinder Pro clean helps maintain consistent grinding performance and prevents coffee oils and grounds from building up inside the grinder.
For routine cleaning: Remove the bean hopper and grind out any remaining beans before unplugging the grinder. Wash the hopper, hopper lid, grounds container, and container lid with warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the grinder's exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
The removable upper burr makes deeper cleaning straightforward. Use the included cleaning brush to remove coffee residue from the upper burr, lower burr, and grind outlet. Regular burr cleaning is especially important when grinding for espresso.
Avoid putting any grinder parts or accessories in the dishwasher, and do not use abrasive cleaning products. Always ensure components are completely dry before reassembling the grinder.
